Match report Won the toss and decided bat

Shaz and Sagar opened the bat. Unfortunately for Shaz, he held up in the covers without troubling the scorers much. Jayraj joined Sagar at the crease, whilst we were 2 for 1. And began launching a counter attack. Sagar on the end, began flowing with the bat and very quickly the accumulated a partnership of 54 runs, until Sagar was dismissed. Shail entered the crease, and was spectating immaculate strokes from Jayraj. In a very short time this partnership, exceeded 50 runs also, but Jayraj a victim to a top edge was dismissed for 64 runs.. team score 117 for 3. Tusharr stepped in, and very quickly began to find the gaps. Until a very odd bounce took a part of his glove. Badshahs were on 142 for in only 17 overs. It looked like we are going to go big.. but then a cluster of wickets fell, from 142 for 4 we were 161 for 7. At one point, we were looking at 300 plus, but now we were struggling to reach 200, with 3 wickets left. But, a big but.. we had Shail still at the crease, and the Captain Ashiq was summoned to the crease. Very quickly Ashiq and Shail began to take control of the game, and started to build a partnership.. with some very good running between the wickets. Ashiq fell at 210 for 8, leaving Raza and Mashooq to clean up the remaining overs.. but they unfortunately could not get going. We were bowled out for 226 inside 40 overs. Shail dug Badshahs out of a huge hole again, showing his mental strength and skill, played an emphatic knock unbeaten on 55*.

BOWLING

Shaz and Mashooq opened the bowling.
Shaz opened his wicket account on his 3rd ball, cleaning up the stumps. And then on 5th ball, he struck again with Sagar joining in the action. Home side were 1 for 2, after the first over.. under some Badshah onslaught. Mashooq started off very controlled and compact, giving away only 3 runs. On the 4th Over, Jeff struck from the field Run Out, what a throw by Jeff, he caught the batsman napping. Tea was arranged to be taken after the powerplay, as it was late. So for the 8th Over, discussion took place between the senior players, and the ball was given to Jeff, just before tea. And remarkably Jeff struck, cleaning up the stumps. The Hosts were 35 for 4 after the powerplay.

We resumed with Mashooq and Shaz after tea. And then Ashiq and Raza came on until the 20th over, when the ball was handed to the spin twins Tusharr and Jeff. On his first Over Tusharr removed the captain J.D. And Jeff followed the pattern from the other end, the Hosts were restricted to 92 for 6. The next few over were very quiet, until Jeff broke the silence, with 2 back to back sneaky Run Outs, showing his full awareness, further adding a squeeze to the Hosts, who were 107 for 8. A partnership began to form, and we decided to bring Shaz back on, who removed their top scorer Aditya Bhatt, and then cleaning up the tail.

This was a very tough one, we had 2 batsmen on 50 plus scores, but we decided that the game changing factor was on the field also.

A great effort by all the team, everyone contributed and we had a great laugh out in the middle. We remained happy and joyous, and enjoyed the game to our full potential. And this attitude and mentality brought out the best in us.
