Watford Badshahs Cricket Club v Watford Haidery CC 1st XI on Sun 21 Jul 2019 at 13:00
Watford Badshahs Cricket Club Lost by 86 runs

Match report Haiderys won the toss and decided to bat

A thrilling start from the Badshahs Express, on the first ball forcing the batsmen to push at it. A big snick but the Slip was caught hovering at 3rd and 4th slip region.

The young Gun Toqeer was then enticed to throw his bat at a very well disguised ball, and was held up at Mid Off. His tenure was very short lived, Ashiq began asking questions. Then in the 3rd Over Ashiq created another chance which was gloved straight to first slip. Unfortunately at Ashiq's horror, the slip didnt even attempt the catch, just watched the ball bounce at his feet.
Mobeen began to answer a few questions, by opening his account with a risky but safe cut through point, but looked shaking.. Then Ehtesham Malik decided to stir him up and Mobeen tried to hit himself out of pressure, and was stranded at Mid Off also. Dismissed!

Kamber walked in hoping to bring a calm to a Haidery tumble. And very soon after he was challenged by Ashiq to a searing delivery which straightened after it pitched, and nicked it off but Sardar at first slip could not hold onto it, Kambar was given a chance which potentially is going to cost the match for the Badshahs.
After a few overs Kambar with the surplus frustration hit one straight at cover, and once again was put down. Then Husnain fell to a gorgeous delivery by Azad who by now had taken three good catches. And Shail removed the MK Senior Pro, enticing him to go for the big boundary which he failed to clear, and Ruhin completed the catch.

Haidery were 5 down, Kambar and Zawar were both at the crease, runs were hard to score. Pressure was on the 2 brothers who were once considered for the Big Bash, but unfortunately they couldnt travel due to other commitments. Both Zawar and Kambar showed great resilience, Zawar coming into bat at No.7. They fought for their runs. Chances were further created but were put down. run out opportunities came but were not taken.

In the last overs the score was set to 162. Ashiq came steaming in from 5 yards, Kambar drives one through the covers straight donw the cover fielders throat... put down. It wasnt middled it just didnt come hard enough as the fielder anticipated. The following over, Kambar tried another get out of Jail shot whilst Ashiq was bowling, Ruhin ran in from Mid on, got to the ball and froze, he let it bounce in front of him. Kambar once again was let off the hook. All in all whilst Ehtesham kept one end very tight, did not let the destructive brothers get into their rhythm, chances were created but yet not taken. Finally Kambar and Zawar let loose, and scored a Mountain of 17 runs off the 37th over. Kambar departed after yet hitting one straught to the Sub Koshal Patel who was eagerly awaiting in the covers. Departed. But what a great battle between the bowlers and batsman. Awesome to watch.

We dropped catches at a crucial points, and fielded awful at crucial points, we failed to take run out opportunities. You can not drop the likes of Kambar. Had he been taken, Haiderys were struggling to get to 120. This is the game.

Tahir and Jayraj came into bat. Started off very observant.

Jayraj then decided he has seen enough of the ball and went after the young Toqeer, dispatching him for 3 consecutive boundaries. Unfortunately Jay did not get the support he would have liked from the other end, and the run rate was falling way below par. He departed.

Shail showed a little fight, but missed the straight full toss. Azad fought hard, and was rewarded with a 50, unfortunately by this time the run rate was around 15 rpo. Chasing it now became an impossible task.

Haiderys rounded up and began displaying their prowess.

Watford Badshahs answer was a mere 171 for 10.

Kambar and Zawar weathered the storm and forged a match winning partnership. They practised restraint and this paid off with a positive result.

Badshahs displayed that they are a formidable force not to be taken so easily. Easily the strongest Bowling attack within the division, if the remaining bowlers execute a more disciplined plan
