Match report Badshahs won the toss and decided to bat

Visitors drew blood in the very first over, by throwing a very well guided ball, which took Abbas out. Jeff was asked to go in to steer the innings towards a more positive outcome, but he come back shaking his head kicking the boundary line. Jayraj was then joined by Tahir, who crafted a very good partnership of 53 runs. Soon after Tahir began putting on the charge, but was unable to do so. Waheed, making his debut came in, and quickly realised that this wicket was not easy to score on, the boundaries were huge and the rain made the wicket sticky. Shail joined him at the crease but once again he departed very quickly, without even troubling the scorers. So it was left to Ashiq and Waheed to steer the innings towards the first target of 100 runs. Then we will attack, but unfortunately this was not to be. However Ashiq and Fahim departed soon after. This gave way to Kashif and Azad another debutant, who snatched runs from the noses of the fielders. We scraped to 119 for 9 in 20 overs.

We now had a target to defend, Ashiq and Faheem opened the innings with the new ball. Ashiq quickly dismissing the opening bat into the point fielders hand.
Fahim was struggling to find the best line to bowl. After the Power Play, the Visitors were on 23 for 1. Azad and Kashif were quickly introduced into the attack, and Kashif opened his account with a Caught and Bowled. Whilst Azad was struggling to bowl a very good line. Jeff and Assad were introduced to the attack, which helped slow the run rate, and the squeeze was on. But the other side Assad leaked one run too many, the debutant was struggling to maintain the correct length. Whilst Jeff finished 2 for 19.
The game was poised until Fahim was asked to return and bowl his remaining 2 overs to complete his quota of 4. And he very quickly removed the 2 batsmen, and looked very threatening. On the other side came Kashif. Kashif manage to create a chance, but it was put down, had this been taken it would have left the Visitors, 16 runs to get 1 wicket remaining and 8 balls. So Last over and 8 runs needed, Ashiq took the ball, bowled a brilliant 4 balls and only conceded 2 runs, which meant 6 runs were needed off 2 balls the game was in our hands. A bit of panic transcended through the field, a little fielding change was being orchestrated, the thrill, the buzz, was let down when bowled 2 wides, and then at the last ball being a tie, the Visitors took a very risky single, Tahir could not hit the stumps and hence a victory to the opposition.

We were 15 runs short, the margin of error was slim to none and conceding 19 extras, whilst defending a low total, shows how it can manipulate the result of a game. 6 runs required from 2 balls, Ashiq should have bowled a lot better, throwing a wide at that time just showed how much pressure he was under.

The way we played and fought hard, this was the next best thing to winning. It shows that our bowling and fielding are ever more vibrant again.
