Match report Badshahs won the toss and elected to Bat


We had late arrivals, and the Captain and Vice Captain decided to bat first with the Absence of the Coach.

Abbas and Jay were tasked to open the innings and go with the same intent and approach as we have been previously. Jay made his intentions clear to the opposition smashing the first ball of the innings through the covers. Abbas had to find his feet as he had not been in the opening spot for a while. Both gave their team a great start, Jay was the first to depart on 42 off a mere 28 deliveries on a track where the ball at times was not bouncing above the ankles.

Kashif and Sardar also played an excellent knock, where both had a strike rate of over 150 giving their team the extra edge which was needed.

As the bowling goes, Vipul started off with an amazing spell, he was bowling too good to be removed, and it was needed as Ashiq started off with a really poor 1st over which leaked 14 runs. Jeff also added to this from the other side, both between bowled 8 overs and gave just over 20 runs, 1 maiden and 3 wickets.

Kashi and Sardar also bowled great, but a little hiccup in the field whilst Sardar was bowling, although he deserved more than 1 wicket. Ashiq returned for his 2nd spell, and bowling slow bouncers and leg cutters.. Nearly took a hat trick.

Bottom line, Badshahs are back up and running.
