Match report The tone was set as the Sun was shining and the Home ground was dry.. Everyone turned up on time, infact way on time, to practise and warm up.. which is always a great sign.
After winning the toss, Abbas chose to bat.. and to be honest on a day like that, you wouldn't have it any other way.
In went our 2 openers Mahroof and Abbas, unfortunately Mahroof lost his wicket early, and left his Captain to pick up the pieces.
Then entered the Dragon (ifti) who quickly made his presence kn own, by launching the second ball for a big 6.
And quickly Abbas lost his wicket, and stepped in Jeff.. with not much score on the board, he walked into the crease with mixed feelings.
Later that mixture of feelings nearly turned out to be a cocktail of a century, but it was just not to be as he fell 3 runs short. The closest ever a Badshah has been to a century so far.
He was well supported by Shail who caressed a nice 40 with some glistening boundaries.
There was every chance of a 300 plus score on this ground.. and in went Ashiq, when the score was just over 200. He played a very smart cameo, and made sure that 300 barrier was broken, before he fell victim to controversial LBW decision.
Mashooq Shah also has found the middle of the bat, launching a huge 6, and nearly losing the ball!
